Found Treasure

I found this bird nest laying on the ground under a tree today.  It's amazing to see how birds build these small structures using the materials at hand.  The foundation of this nest was made of strips of tree bark about 1/2 inches in width.  Then lengths of dried grasses and tiny twigs were woven in and out and between the strips of bark.  Dead leaves were added here and there.  I'm not sure what purpose dead leaves serve.  Perhaps it's just to add a bit of pizazz.  A conversation piece.  Who knows.  I hope in my next life that I come back as a bird so I can make such beautiful creations!
